BECOMING A MEMBER
Membership in the Essex Garden Club is a rich and rewarding experience, and we welcome new members.
There are many benefits to being a member such as educational monthly programs, several interesting horticultural workshops and field trips, the opportunity to make lasting friendships, and the opportunity to learn from other gardeners. Prospective members must have resided in Essex for at least six months prior to becoming a member and must be proposed and seconded by two current members.
Active membership requires participation on the Civic Improvement Committee for the first two years of membership, attending 6 out of the 9 Garden Club meetings per Club year, annual participation in all club-wide programs such as Town Park clean-up twice a year, decorating the Town at holiday time, preparation of garlic salt, and participation in May Market by serving on a committee and donating a required number of plants. Members also must participate in Divide and Pot Days prior to May Market, and take a flower arrangement or plant to the Essex Library once a year.
If you are interested in becoming a member, contact the Membership Chair at: Essex Garden Club, P.O. Box 936, Essex, Ct. 06426.
