OTHER GOOD THINGS TO KNOW

DICKINSON PARK
Fall was the perfect time to make a few additions to Dickinson Park, now possible because we have water and a hose!

Here’s what was planted:
  • Two native Oakleaf hydrangeas “Alice”: these will provide some screening on the west side and add Summer blooms and colorful Fall foliage.
  • Rhodendron “Landmark”: check out the gorgeous fall foliage of this shrub – almost glows reddish–bronze!
  • Limelight hydrangea – perfect to lead your eye down to the far corner of the park, on the Prospect street side.
  • Hemlock “Grentsch”: – a really unusual white-tipped dwarf hemlock. The white/silver edging intensifies in the shade. Will be the highlight of the far corner!
The Fall CleanUp crew at Dickinson also prepared a good part of the bed on the N Main side of the park for Spring planting! They weeded, laid down cardboard, watered and then mulched.

We are looking for suggestions for Spring Planting at Dickinson.
We welcome all your design and planting ideas!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
IF YOU MISSED THE ENDERS ISLAND FIELD TRIP or FALL CLEAN UP be sure to check the Photo Gallery page of the website.
